Condolences
Sending heartfelt condolences to your family. I have many fond memories of Dorothy and of fun days spent sewing at her house, sharing laughs at Ladies Aid, swapping stories over breakfast at Coal Oil Johnny's...She was a one-of-a-kind friend: the very best kind! Dorothy not only welcomed me into her fold, but my kids too. Even now, in their early 30's, they talk about going to Dorothy's house when they were little. We are truly lucky to have been part of Dorothy's circle of friends. Wishing you peace. Deb
Deepest condolences to her entire family! I have so many, many fond memories of during our course of friendship from the 1980s, I cannot begin to tell the stories here. Just know that I will forever love this woman, know that I will see her again someday. RIH, Schmitty!
I have many many fond memories of Schmitty! I just don't know where to begin. I am saddened to hear of her passing, she was a true warrior, fighter, loving, fantastic nurse, seamstress and most of all a friend. I will cherish our friendship forever, until I see her again. RIP Schmitty! Heartfelt condolences to her entire family!
I bought several things from Dorothy at her shop in Market Village. She was wonderful to talk to and we chatted every time I was there. I told her that my mum’s name was also Dorothy, then she asked when her birthday was. They had the same birthday- May 20, different year than Mum but what a coincidence! I see in the obituary that her mother was named Dorothy Patterson. My mum was Dorothy Patterson before she married my dad. I wish I would have known that because we would have laughed and talked about that, too. I so enjoyed my visits with her and will miss seeing her. So sorry for your incredible loss. Now she is pain free and happy in eternity.
Will miss Dorothy such a warrior fighting her cancer. Great sewer . She loved her family so much. Will miss her at the craft shows. Honored to have known her.
Your Mom was such a beautiful lady and wasn't afraid to speak her mind. I started at the Tionesta Market Village one year after she did and we got to be very close friends over the years. She always said that the people of the Village where her second family. She was a beautiful sewer and would help anyone with a sewing problem.
She will be deeply missed by everyone at the Tionesta Market Village and all of her patrons who visited her shop. You had a truly wonderful mom.
