Obituary of Dora Geraldine Howard
Mrs. Dora Geraldine Howard, 92, formerly of 40741 Mageetown Rd. Centerville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at the Golden Living Center in Titusville.
Mrs. Howard was born on November 22, 1918 at Centerville, PA, a daughter of the late Henry and Pearl Smith Gilson and beloved wife of the late Charles W. Howard whom she married on December 25, 1939. He preceded her in death on March 25, 2003.
She retired from the Titusville Area Hospital in 1981 after serving as head of housekeeping for 25 years.
Mrs. Howard was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Centerville.
She enjoyed being with family and friends and doing quilts for her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by three sons, Wilbur F. Howard and his wife Marty of Kokomo, Indiana, Edward H. Howard and wife Elaine of Oil City, and Stanley B. Howard and wife Judy of Centerville; a daughter, Shirley H. White and husband Charles of Conneaut Lake; one grandson, Kent Howard; five granddaughters, Tammy Harrington, Lisa Hanlon, Ashley Dirks, Brandy Howard, and Harmony Motter; 18 great grandchildren; and seven great great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and attend the funeral service there on Wednesday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Donald Hess, of the First Baptist Church in Centerville, officiating.
Interment will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Centerville.
