Obituary of Jerome F. "Jerry" Wagner
Mr. Jerome F. “Jerry” Wagner, Sr., 81, of Titusville, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at St. Vincent Health Center in Erie of natural causes.
Jerry was born on January 1, 1941, at St. Vincent’s Hospital, a son of the late John C. Wagner and Bessie Ida Stinson Wagner. He was married to Jacqueline T. “Jackie” Tinkham Matz on May 30, 1992, in Titusville. He was previously married to Mary Ann Brooks on September 15, 1962.
Jerry was a graduate of Academy High School in Erie, Class of 1958.
He worked at Liberty Electronics in Franklin as a training instructor until his retirement. He was previously owner of Jerry’s Service Center in Titusville and had worked for the former Bryan’s True Value Service Center.
While residing in Erie, Jerry had worked in sales for various companies for over 20 years.
Jerry was instrumental in the inception of the local chapter of Promise Keepers which he had been active with for over 19 years (since 1998). He had led adult Bible classes; taught Sunday school; and was active with home groups for teenagers. He enjoyed singing in church choirs. He was a former of member the 4 Jays music group of Erie.
Jerry is survived by his wife Jackie of Titusville; two sons, Jerome F. Wagner, Jr. and wife Diane of Erie and Kip Wagner and wife Chris of Erie; five granddaughters; three great grandchildren; two step-children, Michele Biamonte and husband Marc of Ringwood, NJ, and Gregory D. Matz and wife Jaci of Bluffton, SC; four great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; four step-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins; and his life long best friends Frank and Patti Silvaggi
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Arianna Wagner; and a brother John C. “Jack” Wagner.
Family and friends may call at the Titusville First United Methodist on Saturday, March 5, 2022, from 10 a.m. until noon at which time a memorial service will be conducted with Pastor Larry Reitz, and the Promise Keeper Men, officiating.
