Obituary of Lena Marie Best
Mrs. Lena Marie Best, 89, formerly of 749 Garden St., in Titusville passed away at 3:25 AM on Thursday, September 08, 2011 at her daughter’s residence in Staunton, VA.
Mrs. Best was born on December 3, 1921 in Van, PA to the late John and Roxy Books Exley. She married Charles E. Best on September 10, 1939 in Greenville. Mr. Best preceded her in death on December 15, 2007.
She attended Cranberry area schools.
Mrs. Best was an active member at the Mt. Carmel Tabernacle in Dempseytown.
She enjoyed studying her Bible, crocheting, music, and drawing. She also loved nature being outdoors fishing and playing with her pets.
Mrs. Best was well known for her kind heart and generosity for helping people.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen “Kathy” White and her husband Michael of Staunton, VA; one granddaughter, Natalie Hutchens and her husband Keith of Staunton, VA; one grandson Charles Marsh and his wife Amanda of Yorktown, VA; five great grandchildren, Michael White, Lauren Fisher, Madison Hutchens, Zachary and Carson Marsh; and her dog “Little Mitzie” along with several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Best was preceded in death by her son and daughter-in-law, Charles R. and Judith A. Best and their son, Brock R. Best who were tragically killed by a tornado.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., Titusville on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday at 11:00 am from the Mt. Carmel Tabernacle in Dempseytown with Rev Dana Lewis, officiating.
Interment will be in the Dempseytown Lutheran Cemetery.
