Obituary of Sarah L. DeArment

Mrs. Sarah L. DeArment, 92, of 16086 Dutch St., Centerville died at 12:05 AM on Saturday, September 17, 2011, at the Golden LivingCenter in Titusville. Mrs. DeArment was born on June 12, 1919 in Tryonville to the late Ray and Edna Lingo Van Cise. She married William R. DeArment on December 31, 1944 in Tryonville. Mr. DeArment preceded her in death on July 9, 1988. She attended school in the Tryonville area and was a lifetime member of the Tryonville United Methodist Church. Mrs. DeArment worked on the assembly line for many years at GE Sylvania in Pleasantville until her retirement in 1985. She was a former member of the Steuben Grange. Mrs. DeArment enjoyed the outdoors hunting, fishing, gardening and bird watching. She enjoyed playing cards with her sisters, but especially loved being with her family. She is survived by a son, Ray DeArment and his wife Marlene of Titusville; five granddaughters, Holly See and companion Scott Schley of Titusville, Hope Gafner and husband Randy of Titusville, Rae Ann Emminger and husband Bill of Pleasantville, Amy See and husband Rick of Titusville, Carrie English and husband Tyler of Titusville; eight great grandchildren, Randa Gafner, Chase Matteson, Abby Matteson, Claire Emminger, Ally See, Tyler Dean See, Lilly See, Tyler Scott English; three sisters, Leona Colbert of Titusville, Edna Van Cise and Marion Propheter both of Centerville; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. DeArment was preceded in death by three sisters, Laura Sutton, Helen Ralston, Myrtle Van Cise; and two brothers, George Van Cise and Ray Van Cise, Jr. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home on Wednesday from 7 to 9 PM and attend the funeral service from the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Tim Harger of the Rometown Community Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Shaw Farm Cemetery, Cornplanter Twp. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice. FLOWERS
