Obituary of Joan Baldwin

Mrs. Joan Baldwin, 71, of Centerville, passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2022, at her residence.

            Joan was born on February 10, 1951, in Charlestown, WV, to the late Holly and Ruby Neal Godbey. She married Clyde O. Baldwin, Jr. on August 3, 1985, in Titusville.

            Joan was a homemaker.

            She was always up for a party and loved to sing and dance. She enjoyed playing pool in the Union City Women’s Pool League, cooking, fishing, motorcycle riding, and being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

            Joan is survived by her husband Clyde of Centerville; two daughters, Michelle Lanham of Canadohta Lake, Kimberly Swisshelm and husband John of Canadohta Lake; five grandchildren, Emily Lanham, Shandra Peelman, Damien Keister, Justice Keister, and Keely Simpson; four great grandchildren, Xavier Willis, and Kallie, Karlee, and Karsyn Simpson; two sisters, Marjorie Pritt of Tennessee, and Lisa White and husband Paul Charlestown, WV; a brother Denny Wayne Neal of Charlestown WV; and several nieces and nephews.

            She was preceded in death by a daughter Leslie Lanham; a sister Peggy Holstien; three brothers Ray Godbey, Ronnie Neal, and Paul David Neal.

            Family and friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home Inc. 303 N. Washington St. on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at which time a funeral service will be conducted with pastor Troy Fraizer, officiating. 

            Interment will be at Fertigs Cemetery.
