Obituary of James F. Wychgel

Mr. James F. Wychgel, 79, of 109 Ridge Rd. Chocowinity, NC, died Thursday, June 3, 2010 at Naples, FLA. Mr. Wychgel was born on May 23, 1931 at Shaker Heights, OH, a son of the late James N. and Ruth Cannell Wychgel. He was married to Mary Archer on August 3, 1958, who preceded him in death on Sept. 10, 2006. Mr. Wychgel was a graduate of Amherst College and earned his Master’s degree at Cornell University. He retired in his early 60’s from a sales career in the computer industry. After retiring, he worked tirelessly for years, as a member of the Downingtown School Board in Downingtown, PA. Mr. Wychgel enjoyed boating. He loved his time vacationing at Temagami, Canada where he spent many special times with his grandchildren and family. He was instrumental in the creation of the LYA (Lionville Youth Association) Soccer Program in Lionville, PA. Mr. Wychgel is survived by two children, Anne W. White and her husband Timothy of N. Coventry, PA and James N. Wychgel II of Chocowinity, NC; three grandchildren, Joshua J. White and his fiancée Julia Lucas of Phoenixville, PA, Scott White and Samantha White, both of N. Coventry; a sister, Betsy Norton of Naples, FLA; and four nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son Scott A. Wychgel in 1990. No public visitation will be observed. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date. Interment will be in East Troy Cemetery in Titusville, PA The family asks that memorials be made to any local Breast Cancer Society.
