Obituary of Elaine M. Johnson

Mrs. Elaine M. Johnson, 83, a resident of the Oil City Presbyterian Home died at 9:30 AM on Wednesday, December 21, 2011.Mrs. Johnson was born on May 19, 1928 in Titusville to the late Fred and Hazel Lane Warner. She married Paul A. Johnson on March 16, 1951 at St. James Memorial Episcopal Church. Mr. Johnson preceded her in death on April 9, 2009. She was a graduate of Colestock High School, class of 1947. Mrs. Johnson helped operate her husband’s business, Paul A. Johnson Appliance’s, for several years. She was a member of St. James Memorial Episcopal Church. Mrs. Johnson enjoyed helping organize her class reunions and reading. She was committed to the care of her grandchildren, and was always offering big hugs and kisses to family and friends. She is survived by three daughters, Cheryl Rumbaugh and husband Ronald of Titusville, Julie McKain and husband Dale of Mahaffey, Teri Wray and husband Robert of Titusville; one son, Kevin Johnson and wife Aly of Jamestown, NY; nine grandchildren, Alisha Brose and Lucas Gray, Chad Turner and wife Kali, Lucas Turner and Amanda O’Neill, Joshua and Jessica Rumbaugh, Megan McKain and fiancée Brennan Gaston, Amanda McKain and fiancée Adam McAfoos, Canyon “Hot Shot” Johnson and Journey Johnson; 6 great grandchildren, Taleigh, Braelyn, Olivia, Carlan, Eden, and Talon; two sisters, Gertrude Sampson and husband Fred of Titusville, and Margaret Dibble and husband Merle of Pleasantville; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Wood and Betty Williams. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at which time the funeral service will be conducted with Rev. Timothy Maybray, pastor of the Titusville Free Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery at the convenience of the family. The family would like to acknowledge the excellent care given to Elaine by her “kids” at the Oil City Presbyterian Home and would encourage memorials be made to the Presbyterian Home 10 Vo Tech Dr. Oil City, PA 16301.
