Obituary of Charles E. Deane

Charles E. Deane, Jr., 82, of 11468 Duncan Road, Titusville, died Saturday afternoon December 24, 2011 at the Titusville Area Hospital. Mr. Deane was born on December 23, 1929 in Titusville, the son of the late Charles and Lillian Proper Deane. He was married to Lois Dempsey on May 12, 1952 at Indiantown Gap, PA. Mr. Deane was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the U.S. Army. He enlisted on March 6, 1951 and was honorably discharged on May 23, 1957 with the rank of corporal. While enlisted he served with the military police. Mr. Deane had been self-employed for 43 years in the logging industry until his retirement in 2007. He was a member of the Titusville Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. He enjoyed being at home with his family, spending time outdoors, wood-working, and was an avid NASCAR fan. Mr. Deane is survived by his wife of Titusville; a son, Edward J. Deane, and a daughter, Sheila M. Hulsizer, both of Titusville; a grandson, Justin L. Hulsizer and his wife Crystal of Titusville; a great-granddaughter, Isabelle; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Howard Deane, Wilbur “Jack” Deane, and Donald Deane; two sisters, Emma Daris and Mamie Ricke. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home today (Tuesday) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm, and attend the funeral service there on Wednesday at 11am with Rev. Leroy Learn, Pastor of the Titusville Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery.
