Obituary of Doris A. Castile Haberly
Mrs. Doris A. Castile Haberly, 79, of Titusville died at 3:40 PM on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at the Oil City Presbyterian Home.
Mrs. Haberly was born on July 23, 1932 in Bristol, OH to the late Clifton and Ruth Phillips Castile.
She was formerly employed as a cook at the Colonel Drake Hotel and waitress for the PNA Club. She was also employed by several local families as a house cleaner, nanny and cook.
Mrs. Haberly was a social member of the PNA and the Bruce Shorts Post 5958 VFW.
She enjoyed listening to country music and loved watching her cooking shows.
Mrs. Haberly is survived by a daughter, Ruth Ann “Rufus” Johnson and companion Gary McKee of Oil City; a son, James C. Charlesworth and companion Stephanie Backus of Sitka, AK; three grandchildren, Anne Marie Johnson-Elslager and husband Karl Elslager of Centerville, Ryan Michael Johnson and companion Sarah Mellring of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Angela Marie Charlesworth Johnson and husband Jeremy of TX; five great grandchildren, Richie, Joey, and Haley of TX, Nick and Taylor Elslager of Centerville; two sisters-in-law, Helen Castile of Buffalo, NY, and Margaret Castile of Belmont, CA; former daughter-in-law, Rosalyn Casella of AZ; and special friends, Ron and Mary Harrison of Cambridge Springs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Haberly who died in 1977; three brothers, James Castile, Edgar S. “Jake” Castile, Walter “Wimp” Castile; and one sister, Barbara Ann Castile who died in infancy.
No calling hours will be observed.
A memorial service will be conducted for family and friends on Monday at 4:00 PM from the Church of the Nazarene 213 E. Bloss Street Titusville with Rev. Marshall Lillie, Chaplain for Hospice of Crawford County, officiating. Friends will be received prior to the service from 3 to 4 PM.
