Obituary of Hays L. Renninger

Mr. Hays L. “Bud” Renninger, 78, of 15251 Newton Town, Rd., Centerville died at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Renninger was born on Dec. 2, 1933 in Oakland Twp., Venango Co., to the late Herman “Pete” and Irene Bradybaugh Renninger. He was a veteran of the US Army having served in the Korean War. He entered the service on May 1, 1953 at Pittsburgh and served with the 75th Infantry Regiment as a light weapons infantryman. He was honorably discharged on May 2, 1956 with the rank of SP 3. Mr. Renninger was formerly employed as a machinist with General Electric in Erie and Joy Manufacturing in Franklin. He was a member of the Bruce Shorts Post 5958 VFW, Cleo J. Ross Post 368 American Legion, and the PNA all of Titusville. Mr. Renninger enjoyed the outdoors hunting and fishing, sharing stories with his friends and watching NASCAR. He especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his four children, Sally Nichols and husband Allen, Tim Renninger and wife Melissa, John Renninger, Kathy Fielding and husband Patrick Sr., all of Titusville; his grandchildren, Duane Smithers and wife Alisha, Jeremy Smithers and wife Heera, David Smithers and wife Dawn, Rafe Ruot and wife Kim, Michael Nelson and wife Jessica, Danielle Nelson, Stacy Stec and husband Jeremy, Troy Anderson, Johnny Renninger and wife Brianna, Courtney Renninger, Kayla Fielding, Jake Fielding wife Brianna, Tori Fielding, Patrick Fielding Jr. and wife Billie, Eric Moore and wife Dessa; great grandchildren, Isaac Makayleh, Zylee, Alexander and Chelsea Smithers, Dayton and Ethan Fielding, Lance and Lexis Moore, Kayden and Talon Renninger, Carly Prichard, Colten Miller, Aydin, Chandon and Lindsey Ruot, Lilly, Raylynn and Ray-J Nelson; his former wife Karen Renninger of Titusville; two brothers, Ralph Renninger, James Renninger and wife Elaine of Conneaut; four sisters, Hazel Winters and husband Sonny of Frewsburg, NY, Mary Cosper, Edith Melandez, Janet Caron and husband Lyonel all of North East; and an Uncle Jack Renninger and wife Vera of Titusville; Mr. Renninger was preceded in death by a brother, Everett “Hughie” Renninger; and three sisters, Minnie Reynolds, Elsie Tarr, and Joan Alsbugh. No calling hours will be observed. A memorial service will be conducted for family and friends at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St, Titusville on Saturday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Doug Cole pastor of the Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Lamey Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association 5455 N.
