Obituary of Gloria M. Stockwell
Mrs. Gloria M. Stockwell, 82, of Centerville, died at 4:03 PM Thursday, January 26, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family.Gloria was born at Deer Park, MD on January 31, 1929, the daughter of the late Gayle and Hazel Shockey Allhiser. She was married to Gilbert C. Stockwell on May 14, 1950 at Ashland, KY. He preceded her in death on June 17, 2008.
Gloria was a graduate of the Townville High School, class of 1948.
She was a former member of the Tryonville United Methodist Church; a former member of the Willing Workers of Tryonville; and a former member of the Ladies Aide of Five Corners. She enjoyed flower gardening, canning, taking long walks, and spending time with her pets. She was an excellent seamstress and also enjoyed crocheting.
Gloria is survived by a son, Kim Stockwell and his wife Lucinda of Titusville; three daughters, Carina Titus and husband Edward of Titusville, Gail Anthony and husband Walter of Centerville, and Bonnie Mahnk of Peru, NY; 7 grandsons, Lance Titus and wife Megan, Brent Titus, Herbert Stockwell and wife Melissa, Daniel Stockwell and wife Daynah, Kyle Anthony, Casey Anthony, and Jonathan Mahnk; a granddaughter, Tara Mahnk; a great granddaughter, Haley Titus; a great grandson, Zachery Titus; two brothers, William Allhiser and wife Sue of Register, GA and Albert Allhiser of Centerville; two sisters, Barnetta Nicols and Margaret Jackson and her husband Phillip, all of Centerville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Beatrice Byham; a sister-in-law, Nancy Moody Allhiser; and a brother-in-law, Robert Nicols.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 to 4 PM and attend the funeral service there on Monday at 10:00 AM with Pastor Larry Hellein officiating.
Interment will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Centerville.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Crawford County 310 N. Monroe St. Titusville, PA 16354 or to any chapter of the American Diabetes Association.
