Obituary of George L. Roberts

George L. “Mannie” Roberts, 84, of 13321 Old Route 8 North Titusville, passed peacefully with his family nearby on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at St. Vincent Health Center in Erie.Mannie was born on July 27, 1927 at Titusville, PA, a son of the late George C. and Hazel Shrout Roberts. He was married to Donna Moyer on Oct. 10, 1953. He was a retired boiler maker with Local #636. He had been employed for 30 years at the former Struthers Wells Corp. in Titusville and retired from Joy Manufacturing in Franklin after 15 years of employment. He had attended the Church of the Nazarene in Titusville. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Donna of Titusville; three sons, George and Penny Hopwood Roberts of Edinboro, Jeff and Jean Kunick Roberts of Titusville, and Jon and Janice Roberts of Amherst, OH; grandchildren, Jason and Jennifer Roberts, Julie and Joe Peden, Jack and Heather Roberts, all of Titusville, Jena and Brian Dillemuth of Pittsburgh, Kristin and Brian Rotko, and Brian Roberts, all of Edinboro, and Zachary Roberts of Erie; great grandchildren, DeShaun and Austin Roberts, Jorja, Josey, and Judd Peden, Sydney and Madison Rotko, and Addison Roberts; a sister, Joyce Roberts Doolittle of Titusville; sisters-in-law, Jerry Kirch and Marilyn Moore of Titusville, and Chris Moyer of Cranberry Twp.; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four infant siblings and a sister, June “Betty” McCrillis. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and attend the funeral service at the funeral home on Tuesday at 10 AM with Rev. Dominic Pecoraro, pastor of the Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Interment will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Centerville. The family asks that memorials be made to the Hydetown Volunteer Fire Dept. or to the International Rett Syndrome Foundation 4600 Devitt Dr. Cincinnati, OH 45246. FLOWERS
