Obituary of Dale L. Bair

Rev. Dale L. Bair passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the Titusville Area Hospital, at 4:30 PM on Sunday, March 4, 2012, following a short illness. Rev. Bair, a retired minister, was born July 11, 1926, in Sharon, a son of the late John and Sarah Reuff Bair. He graduated from Sharon High School in the mid 1940’s, and attended Allentown Bible Institute where he graduated on June 1, 1950. December 30, 1950, he married Blanche L. Lauffer. Together, they shared 58 years of marriage, 4 sons, 6 grandchildren and many adventures throughout his pastoral career. Dale was ordained into the ministry of the Pilgrim Holiness Church in Twin Rocks, PA in 1951. In subsequent years, he pastored in various churches in Eastern Pennsylvania, along with the Titusville Pilgrim Holiness, Warren Wesleyan Church and Tionesta-Newmansville Free Methodist Church in Forest County. Nearing retirement, Dale spent the last decade of his career ministering at Gilson Ridge Free Methodist Church. Along with his ministries, he worked as a clerk at the YMCA in the 1980’s, he served as a chaplain on the Titusville Auxiliary Police Force and in security at the University of Pittsburgh at Titusville, as well as, Universal Cyclops Specialty Steel. He donated his time in volunteering at the Salvation Army in various ways. Dale was also very active in donating to Saint Labre Indian School in Ashland, MT. Dale was preceded in death by his wife Blanche L. Bair on April 10, 2008; his parents, and two brothers, Gordon Bair and Rolland Paul Bair. He is survived by 4 sons, David Bair of Billings, MT, Darrell Bair and wife Susan of Billings, MT, Duane Bair and wife Julie of Townville, Dale Bair and wife Denise of Titusville; 6 grandchildren, Steven Bair of Boston, MA, Shane Bair of Titusville, Jenni Lindsay of New Castle, New South Wales, Australia, Krisit Bair of Youngstown, OH, Amanda Bair of Townville, Kylie Bair of Titusville; 2 great grandchildren, Teagan Falco and Alaina Bair both of Titusville; a brother, Charles Bair and wife Mary Helen of Longview, TX; and many extended relatives. Friends may call at the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church on Thursday from 12:00 to 2:00 PM with the service to follow conducted by Rev. Leroy Learn pastor of the church, officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Labre Indian School, Ashland, MT 59004, to Tara Humara Missions c/o Christian & Missionary Alliance Church 520 W.
