Obituary of Damaris A. Tartara
Damaris A. Tartara, 28, of 402 N. Kerr St. Titusville, died unexpectedly Monday, June 21, 2010 at her residence.
Damaris was born on May 11, 1982 in Titusville, a daughter of Frances Thomas Deeter Whitehill and the late George Deeter. She was married to John G. Tartara on June 23, 2007 in Titusville.
Damaris was a graduate of Maplewood High School, class of 2000. She attended Keystone College at LaPlumme, PA for a year. She graduated from Edinboro University in 2006 with an associate degree in early childhood education, and a bachelor of arts degree in specialized studies.
Damaris had been employed at Titusville CVS for the past nine years as a pharmacy technician. She was also currently employed at Northstar Behavioral Health Services in Oil City with the therapeutic support staff.
Damaris was a member of the Titusville First United Methodist Church; a member of the Hallelujah Handbells at the church; and involved with many of the educational programs of the church. She was a constant promoter of camping at Wesley Woods and a volunteer for special needs children.
Damaris enjoyed scrapbooking and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of Titusville; a son, Joseph R. Tartara at home; her mother and step-father, Fran and Duane Whitehill of Titusville; her maternal grandparents, Robert and Ruth Thomas of Lincolnville; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Janet Tartara of Townville; a brother, John Deeter of Lincolnville; a sister, Kristi Turner and husband Ben of Tryonville; two step-brothers, Daniel Whitehill and wife Lisa of Clinton, OH and Dale Whitehill and wife Martha of Raynham, Mass.; two step-sisters, Diane Snyder and husband Tim of Titusville and Dawnette Whitehill of Ellicott City, MD; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Further visitation will be held on Friday at the Titusville First United Methodist Church from 10 to 11 AM at which time the funeral service will be conducted with Rev. Bill Blair, pastor, officiating.
Interment will be in Tryonville Cemetery.
