Obituary of D. Jane Fridley

Mrs. D. Jane Fridley went home to her Lord on March 16, 2012. She was born in Pleasantville on December 17, 1935, a daughter of the late Kenneth and Leona Miller Warren. Mrs. Fridley attended Titusville Area Schools and in 1987 she received her GED. On June 2, 1954, she married Charles D. Fridley. They celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2004. Mr. Fridley preceded her in death on April 20, 2009. Together they had 3 children, Bonnie Woods and her husband Shawn of Little River, SC, James Fridley and his wife Beatrice of Titusville, and Daniel Fridley and his wife Laura of New York City. She leaves 4 granddaughters, Jessica Schueler, Nicole Moore, Kimberly Scannell and Sarah Raines and a grandson, Randy Woods. She also leaves 7 great-grandsons, Patrick, Brendan, Tyler, Skyler, Kenneth, Nathan and Cody; and 1 great-granddaughter, Tiela. Mrs. Fridley was preceded in death by 4 siblings, Sandra Eshelman, Donald K. Warren, Donna Wagner and Deanna Long. She was leader of Girl Scout Troop #379 for 31 years until 2001. Mrs. Fridley helped with the troop weekly, and together they hosted the White Oak/Bethel youth groups in their home for 9 years. Jane was Citizen of the Year for 1993 in Titusville for the contributions to the youth in our area. She also served as Secretary for Sining Hills service team for 6 years, neighborhood Chairman for Titusville Girl Scouts for 6 years, and a Sunday school teacher and youth leader for White Oak United Methodist Church for many years. She was an avid quilter, enjoyed cats and loved kids. A memorial service will be conducted for family and friends at the Bethel United Methodist Church 15068 State Hwy 89, Titusville on Tuesday at 4:00 PM with Rev. Jerry Gray, officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Benson Memorial Library 213 N. Franklin St., Titusville, PA 16354.
