Obituary of Dorothy L. Reising

Mrs. Dorothy L. Reising, 82, formerly of 212 E. Linden Ave. Titusville, died Monday afternoon, August 24, 2009 at St. Vincent’s Health Center in Erie. She had been a resident of Country Acres Personal Care Home for the past several years. Mrs. Reising was born on July 2, 1927 in Titusville, a daughter of the late Stewart and Zella DeMille Trout. She was previously married to James E. Reising on Sept. 10, 1949 in Erie. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Reising was a graduate of the Titusville High School, class of 1945 and a graduate of the Hamot School of Nursing, class of 1948 earning her registered nurse degree. She had been employed as an industrial nurse at GTE Sylvania in Pleasantville from 1962 until 1989 at which time she retired. Mrs. Reising was a member of the former St. Paul’s United Church of Christ and later of the First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Mrs. Reising is survived by a daughter, Kathy Snyder and her husband Jeff of Titusville; a granddaughter, Maria Snyder at home; a close cousin, James DeMille of Ketsch, Germany and formerly of Titusville; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home today (Wednesday) from 7 to 9 PM and on Thursday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at which time the funeral service will be conducted with Mrs. Jacqueline Wagner, senior assistant to the pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating.
