Obituary of Betty F. Hasbrouck
Mrs. Betty F. Hasbrouck, formerly of 1401 South Perry St. Titusville, died Sunday morning July 15, 2012 at Country Acres Personal Care Home where she had been a resident for the past year.
Betty was born at Wesleyville, PA, a daughter of the late Jess and Marion Shafer Goodwill.
She was married to Everett E. Hasbrouck, the love of her life, for 47 years. Together they operated Hasbrouck Scrap Iron and Metal until his death on Nov. 22, 1991.
Betty devoted her life to the Order of the Eastern Star, belonging to Acacia Chapter No. 30 (then Chapter No. 44 in Meadville). She held numerous offices and appointments with both local and Grand Chapter, including Worthy Matron, District Deputy Grand Matron, and Grand Representative to the state of Kansas. She was also active in the Masonic organizations of Selket Temple Belles, White Shrine, and Daughters of the Nile. Through the years, she also participated in the Titusville Garden Club, Titusville Hospital Auxilliary, and the Titusville Womens Club.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Foresther of Titusville; a granddaughter, Meredith Estrich and her husband Michael of Erie; a great grandson, Noah Estrich; two brothers, Donald Goodwill and his wife Donna of Waterford and Theodore Goodwill and his wife Yong of Titusville; sisters-in-law, Thelma Kauffman of Oil City and Katherine Goodwill of Titusville; a brother-in-law, Herbert Hasbrouck and his wife Marian of Titusville; and numerous extended family who meant so much to her.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Craig L. Hasbrouck who died in 1945; two sisters, Gladys Harris and Arlene Donovan; and two brothers, Arthur and Jack Goodwill.
No public calling hours will be observed. Officers and members of the Order of the Eastern Star will conduct a memorial service on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church. Friends may also attend the funeral service at 11:00 AM Wednesday at the church with Rev. Dr. Barry E. Cressman, pastor, officiating.
Interment will be in Union Cemetery.
