Dorothy L. Hubbard, 80, of 520 Jefferson St. Meadville, died Friday afternoon July 27, 2012 at her residence. Dorothy was born on Oct. 3, 1931 at Oil City, PA, a daughter of the late Clifford and Minnie Frantz Hubbard. Dorothy had attended New Beginnings Church of God in Meadville. She was a part of the ARC of Crawford County family for the past 19 years, where she was showered with an abundance of love from her ARC family. Because of ARC, she was provided with the opportunities to do the things she loved most in life. She enjoyed horseback riding and was awarded a certificate from VARHA (Venango Area Riding for the Handicapped Association) for her completion of a riding course. She also enjoyed playing her guitar, singing, swimming, boating and bowling. One of her favorite things to do was going to church to sing. She was also a volunteer at the Meadville Soup Kitchen for the past 15 years. Dorothy was the last of her immediate family. She is survived by her best friend and life skill giver of 15 years, Kim “Pickle” Kerz of Meadville; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends which include Sally Hettrick, Terry Hoover, Kathy Hubbard, Tom and Deb O’Neill, Pat and Buck Crabb, Terri Lynn Crabb, Hannah Childs, Julia Childs, Cindy Galford, Jeff Hubbard, Judy Miller and Robert Fratus, Jr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, infant Leroy Hubbard, and Robert and Richard Hubbard; and three sisters, Betty Fratus, Helen Hettrick, and Ruth DeLong. Friends may attend a memorial service on Wednesday, Aug. 1st at 1:00 PM at the New Beginnings Church of God 13226 Leslie Rd. Meadville with Pastor Temple Jarrell officiating.
