Obituary of Marjorie E. Gustafson

Mrs. Marjorie E. Gustafson, 95, of 12144 Patterson Rd. Titusville, died Tuesday morning July 13, 2010 at her residence. Mrs. Gustafson was born on May 25, 1915 in Titusville, a daughter of the late Archie and Cora Smith Shorts. She was married to Clifford Gustafson on August 15, 1934. He preceded her in death on September 29, 1966. Mrs. Gustafson had attended the former Dotyville School. She had been employed for 25 years at the former W.T. Grant Co. in Titusville from where she retired. Mrs. Gustafson enjoyed sewing, crocheting, plastic canvas Indians, reading and traveling. She wintered at Avon Park, FLA for 23 years and enjoyed her cottage at Mystic Park in the summers. Mrs. Gustafson is survived by a daughter, Joan Crandell of Hydetown with whom she lived; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; a son-in-law, John Madden of Cooperstown; a brother, Gene Shorts and his wife Virginia of Titusville; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Madden; a great grandson, Ira Snyder; two brothers, Rex Shorts and Reginald Shorts; and a sister Shirley Mosher. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and attend the funeral service there on Friday at 10:00 AM with Pastor Jerry Gray of White Oak United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Kingsley Cemetery in Townville. The family asks that memorials be made to Hospice of Crawford County 310 N. Monroe St. Titusville, PA 16354. FLOWERS
