Obituary of Beverly J. Allen

Beverly J. Allen, 72, of 9929 Youngsville Rd. Grand Valley, passed away peacefully at home Sunday evening August 19th surrounded by her family. Beverly was born on Nov. 7, 1939 at Oil City, PA, a daughter of the late James and Vera Condon Vogan. She was married to Charles S. Allen on April 20, 1957 in Hydetown. Beverly had attended St. Walburga School. She was a member of the Pleasantville Women’s Club; a member of the Pleasantville Volunteer Fire Dept. Auxillary; a member of the Secret Sisters of Pleasantville; the Pleasantville PTA; and a volunteer at the Titusville Area Hospital for many years. She enjoyed traveling, especially her trips to Hawaii; enjoyed working with ceramics, gardening, watching birds, swimming and sunbathing, and the outdoors in general. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is survived by the following children; Larry “Jim” Allen of Tidioute, Charles “Stub” Allen, Jr. of Hydetown, Theresa McDowell of Pleasantville, DeWayne “Duke” Allen and wife Holly of Titusville, and Bradley Allen of Grand Valley; 15 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; two sisters, Judy Bodamer of Oil City, and Linda Sutton and husband Roland of Titusville; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Vogan, Jr.; and a sister, Margo Hancock. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville today (Tuesday) from 7 to 9 PM and on Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at which time the funeral service will be conducted with Pastor Dennis Ledebur of the Tidioute Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will be in Triumph Swedish Union Cemetery. The family asks that memorials be made to any chapter of the American Cancer Society or local Hospice organization. FLOWERS
