Obituary of Wilda L. Wescoat
Mrs. Wilda L. Wescoat, 68, of 4409 Gorman Rd., Grand Valley died at 2:15 AM on Sunday, September 06, 2009 at her residence.
Mrs. Wescoat was born on March 23, 1941 at Titusville to the late Leroy C. “Bill” and Betty E. Crawford Metzgar.
She was a graduate of Spartansburg High School, class of 1958 and the University of Pittsburgh at Titusville with an accounting certificate.
Mrs. Wescoat was formerly employed by GTE Sylvania for 20 years and a co-owner of the Sister Shoppe. She also worked at one time for the following local businesses: McCray’s Super Duper, R.J. Clickett Inc., O’Neill’s Shoes, Bryan’s on the Corner and Bryan’s Hardware.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, boating, camping, traveling the states in their motor home and working in her flower beds.
Mrs. Wescoat is survived by her husband Carl L. Wescoat whom she married on Feb. 8, 1964; five children, Terry L. Wescoat and wife Robin of Titusville, Randy L. Wescoat and wife Tami of Grand Valley, Keith L. Wescoat and wife Missy of Grand Valley, Kevin L. Wescoat and wife Joni of Titusville, Julie M. Ellis and husband Ed of Pantego, NC; 13 grandchildren, Nicole Mellon and husband Joshua, Seth Wescoat, Nicholas Wescoat, Michael Wescoat, Michelle Wescoat, Mitchell Wescoat, Preston Wescoat, Connor Wescoat, Maxwell Wescoat, Grady Wescoat, Mason Ellis, Logan Ellis, Olivia Ellis; two great-grandchildren, Caleb Marvin and MacKenzie Mellon; two sisters, Wanda L. Kistler and husband Joseph of Cooperstown and Kathryn J. Bingman and husband Bub of Enterprise; one brother, Roger Metzgar and wife Lucy of Cleveland, TN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kathryn Wescoat.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home today (Tuesday) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and attend the funeral service from the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:00 AM with her brother Roger Metzgar, officiating.
Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Pleasantville.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Crawford County 310 N. Monroe St., or to the Pleasantville Vol. Fire Dept.
