Obituary of Ruth Marie Walters

Mrs. Ruth Marie Walters, 94, formerly of Titusville died Monday evening, October 8, 2012 at The Caring Place in Franklin. She had been a resident there for the past several years. Mrs. Walters was born on June 25, 1918 in Kingsley Twp., Forest Co., to the late Clyde and Ella Moore Prather. She was married to William F. Walters on October 22, 1934 in Rocky Grove. Mr. Walters preceded her in death on Feb. 17, 2007. She attended Titusville schools. Mrs. Walters was a member of the Titusville Branch Fellowship. She wrote and self-published her own book, “The Book of Ruth”, at the age of 87. She also enjoyed reading and spending time with her family, and was known for her great sense of humor. Mrs. Walters is survived by two sons, William F. Walters, Jr. of Phoenix, AZ, and James Lee Walters of Pico Rivera, CA; a daughter, Sharyn Lamey and husband Jerry of Titusville; 10 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, a brother, Elmer Lee Prather of Boston, Mass; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son Ernest G. “Jerry” Walters; two brothers, Ernest Prather and John Prather; three sisters, Faye Feltner, Jane Foreman, and Erma Wagner. A memorial service will be conducted for family and friends on Saturday at 2 PM at the Titusville Branch Fellowship, with Pastor Troy Funte officiating. Interment will be in Lamey Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Titusville Branch Fellowship 224 W. Spruce St. Titusville, PA 16354.
