Obituary of William F. Schneider

Mr. William F. Schneider, 91, formerly of 633 S. Franklin St., Titusville died at 10:05 PM on Friday, July 23, 2010 at Southwoods Assisted Living Community. Mr. Schneider was born at Titusville on June 23, 1919 to the late Jacob and Eva Edwards Schneider. He married Louise C. Wick on March 8, 1941 in Tionesta. He was a graduate of Titusville High School, class of 1937. Mr. Schneider was a veteran of World War II. He served in the US Navy from 1944 to 1946 when he was honorably discharged with the rank of Seaman First Class. He was formerly employed as a heater at Universal Cyclops Specialty Steel Corp. for over 40 years. He retired on January 31, 1980. Mr. Schneider was a life member of the First United Methodist Church, Bruce Shorts Post #5958 VFW, Cleo J. Ross Post 368 American Legion, and belonged to the American Contract Bridge League. He enjoyed gardening and was an avid bridge player. Mr. Schneider is survived by his wife Louise Schneider also a resident at Southwoods; one son, Bill Schneider and his wife Jill of Severna Park, MD; two daughters, Nancy Malcolm and her husband Lynn of Akron, OH, Pam Matthews and her husband C.C. of Orlando, FL; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Miss Virginia L. “Ginny” Schneider; 2 brothers, Emory J. Schneider and Edward Schneider; and 3 sisters, Edith Williams, Helen Foster, and Marian Myers. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home today (Monday) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Funeral services will be on Tuesday at 11:00 AM in the First United Methodist Church with Rev.
