Obituary of Clarence L. “Baldy” Thompson
Clarence L. “Bud” “Baldy” Thompson, 76, of 10919 Newland Ave. Titusville, died Saturday evening November 3, 2012 at St. Vincent Health Center in Erie.
Mr. Thompson was born on April 14, 1936 at Rouseville, PA, a son of the late Woodrow and Helen Fox Thompson. He was married to Jean Slother on Dec. 13, 1980 at Dempseytown.
He had been self employed as a truck driver most of his working career, and was also owner of Bud’s Garage in Cambridge Springs from 1971 to 1981.
He was known to his grandchildren and their friends as “Pop”. He enjoyed riding his Harley; working on cars; and riding four wheelers with the children. He enjoyed his pet dogs, watching boxing and NASCAR.
Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife of Titusville; three children, Ronnie Thompson and his wife Robin of Titusville, Thomas Gilson and his wife Theresa of Leesville, LA, and Susan Obert and her husband Frank of Titusville; 11 grandchildren, Zachary, Ian and Abigail Thompson, Thomas Gilson, Shana Toups, Shelby Cryer, Buckly, Jacob, and Amanda Obert, April Elslager, and Everett Wakefield; 18 great grandchildren; two brothers, Paul Thompson and his wife Martha of Titusville, and Don Thompson and his wife Sharon of Pleasantville; a sister, Linda Wagner and husband Don of Tionesta; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Penny Wakefield; a grandson, Timothy Wakefield; two brothers, James and Delbert Thompson; and a sister, Martha Fenstermaker.
No public calling hours will be observed. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
