Obituary of Curtis P. Martin

Mr. Curtis P. “Curt” Martin of 3760 Mt. Hope Rd., Titusville died unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Martin was born on July 2, 1955 in Titusville to the late Hubert B. and Mary Nelson Martin. Curt was a graduate of Titusville High School, class of 1974. He was a former employee of Day’s Home Furnishing and Appliances for 20 years and was currently employed by Dan Covell for the past few years. Curt was a social member of the Bruce Shorts Post 5958 VFW and the Caldwell Hunting Club. He loved spending time with his family, watching Nascar, being outdoors and hunting. Curt is survived by his daughter, Heather Martin Filer and her husband Terry of Utica; a granddaughter, Kendall Lynn Filer of Utica; nephew, Edward Martin of Titusville; two nieces, Kim Smith and husband Larry of Rivesville, WV, Traci Jo Tierney and husband Don of Cambridge Springs; two great nieces and one great nephew. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Nelson Martin and Joseph Martin; and a sister, Ceora Martin. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., Titusville on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and attend the funeral service from the funeral home on Saturday at 11:00 AM with Fr. Walter E. Packard, pastor of the Catholic Community of Titusville, officiating. Interment will be in the Gorman Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in care of Curtis Martin to the Shine Taylor Scholarship Fund, Bruce Shorts Post 5958 VFW, 206 St. John St., Titusville, PA 16354.
