Obituary of Betsy Baker
Betsy Baker, 70, of 526 E. Spruce St. Titusville, died Sunday morning November 18, 2012 at her residence.
Betsy was born on June 11, 1942 in Titusville, a daughter of the late Vance and Caroline Dodge Myers. She was married to David M. Baker on May 23, 1964 at Pleasantville.
Betsy was a graduate of Colestock High School, class of 1960 and earned her Licensed Practical Nursing degree from the Oil City School of Nursing in 1963.
She had been employed for 23 years as an LPN at the Titusville Area Hospital until her retirement in 2005.
She was a member of the Titusville First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, gardening, reading, traveling and doing crossword puzzles. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her pet dogs.
Betsy is survived by her husband of Titusville; two children, David “Sonny” Baker of Titusville and Jodi Greer and her husband Todd of Centerville; 9 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; a sister, Helen Boemmel and her husband Denny of Titusville; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Dunn of Pleasantville and Sarah Chappel of Titusville; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and attend the funeral service there on Wednesday at 11:00 AM with Mr. Tom Newcombe, assistant to the pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
