Obituary of Marian E. Conaway
Mrs. Marian E. Conaway, 85, formerly of Troy Center Rd., Centerville died at 5:40 PM on Thursday, November 22, 2012 at Rolling Fields Nursing Home in Conneautville.
Mrs. Conaway was born on January 25, 1927 in Oil City to the late Harry and Mary Moore Nuhfer. She married Raymond J. Conaway on June 14, 1947. He preceded her in death on August 27, 1995.
She was a graduate of Oil City High School, attended Clarion College and received her teaching degree from Edinboro College in 1960.
Mrs. Conaway was a first grade teacher for 35 years at Townville Elementary School and retired from Maplewood School District after 40 years of teaching.
She was a member of the Diamond Evangelical United Methodist Church and the Townville Women’s Club.
Mrs. Conaway loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed quilting and gardening.
She is survived by two sons, John M. Conaway and wife Colleen of Worthington, James K. Conaway and wife Laura of Guys Mills; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; a brother, Dr. Thomas H. Nuhfer and wife Jacqueline of Edinboro; a sister, Judy McPherson of Centerville; brother-in-law, Paul Burnett of Centerville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Conaway was preceded in death by a son, Joseph R. Conaway; and a sister, Margaret Burnett.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., Titusville on Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 PM with the service to follow conducted by Pastor Terry Brown of the Diamond Evangelical United Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Troy Center Cemetery.
