Obituary of Billie LaBolle Brown
Mrs. Billie L. LaBolle Brown, 85, of 167 Third St., Pleasantville died at 2:57 AM on Sunday, December 09, 2012 at Hamot Medical Center in Erie.
Mrs. Brown was born on November 28, 1927 in Youngstown, OH to the late William B. and Myrtle Cubbison Lewis.
She was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in Youngstown, class of 1945. She also attended the University of Pittsburgh at Titusville.
Billie was the Executive Director of the Titusville Housing Authority since 1978.
She was a member of the Pleasantville United Methodist Church. In 1999 she was the Titusville Citizen of the Year, past President of Western Director’s Association for Public Housing Authorities and in 1999 she also received the YWCA Volunteer of the Year award.
Billie is survived by three children, Kathy Nageotte of Titusville, Douglas LaBolle and wife Joy of Pleasantville, Randall LaBolle of Sarasota, FL; step-daughter, Linda Brown Tillotson and husband Tom of Cal.; 5 grandchildren, Tara Kocan Nichols and husband Joe of Pleasantville, Rane Kocan of Sherman Oaks, CA, Kali LaBolle Turner of Titusville, Travis LaBolle and fiancée Nichole Holland of Pleasantville, and Lukas LaBolle and companion Laura Terwilliger of Titusville; and 6 great grandchildren, Haedyn and Aubrey Nichols, TaLeigh and Braelyn Eldred, Carlan Turner, and Mattison LaBolle; four step-grandchildren, Jessica Spragg and husband Don of Boca Raton, FLA, Rachael Shaw and husband DJ of Townville, Jenna Thiessen and husband Adam of Cassiday, KS, and Mollie Nageotte of Madison, VA; and 8 step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands: James L. LaBolle whom she married on Dec. 17, 1948 in Youngstown, OH. He died on May 7, 1973, and Arthur E. Brown whom she married on April 10, 1976 in Titusville. Mr. Brown preceded her in death on October 3, 2002. She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Daniel Nageotte; and a step-daughter, Karen Brown Hicks.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., Titusville on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Funeral services will be conducted from the Pleasantville United Methodist Church on Friday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Lee Baker, associate pastor of the Titusville First United Methodist Church and Rev. Donald Russell, pastor of the Pleasantville United Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Kerr Hill Cemetery.
