Obituary of Millia Sullivan
Mrs. Millia (Armatas) Sullivan, 82, of 629 W. Walnut St., Titusville died at 1:50 PM on Tuesday, January 8, 2013, following a brief illness.
Mrs. Sullivan was born on June 12, 1930 in Titusville to the late Nickolas E. and Bernice Osborne Armatas.
She was a graduate of Titusville High School, class of 1948.
Millia was a former district and regional manager for Avon Products Inc., from 1964 until the time of her retirement in 1981. After several years of retirement she and her husband Thomas opened Victoria’s on Franklin St., in 1992 and maintained the business until 2008.
She was a life member of St. James Memorial Episcopal Church and served as a vestry member and soup kitchen volunteer.
Millia loved to travel the world whether going to Greece with her children to visit family, a shopping trip to Hong Kong or many of the trips she earned for being a top manager for Avon. She was also just as excited to be at her cottage at Canadohta Lake entertaining her family and friends.
Those who knew Millia were accustomed to seeing her with her West Highland white terrier’s.
She is survived by two sons, William Wig and wife Pam of Spartansburg, Ronald Wig and wife Terri of Hydetown; four grandchildren, Joshua Wig and wife Linsey of Charlotte, NC, Ryan Wig and wife Karen of Greenville, Nicholas Wig and Christopher Wig of Hydetown; four great grandchildren, Colton Wig, Amelia Wig, Lydia Wig and Nolan Wig; two brothers, James Armatas and wife Sue of Titusville, Nickolas Armatas of San Francisco, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Millia was preceded in death by her former first husband William R. Wig whom she married in 1950 and died in 1988, and her second husband Thomas B. Sullivan whom she married on July 18, 1964 in Hydetown. He died on July 6, 2001.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Funeral services will be conducted from St. James Memorial Episcopal Church on Monday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Canon Martha Ishman, officiating.
Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Titusville High School Alumni Association 302 E. Walnut St., Hospice of Crawford Co. 310 N. Monroe St., Titusville Area United Way 208 W. Spring St., or to the charity of one’s choice.
