Obituary of Betty M. Densmore
Mrs. Betty M. Densmore, 93, of Pleasantville, died Saturday morning January 12, 2013 at St. Vincent Health Center in Erie.
Mrs. Densmore was born on June 13, 1919 at Franklin, PA, a daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Scott Mihleder. She was married to Marion C. Densmore on May 9, 1943 at Franklin. He preceded her in death on July 10, 2000.
Betty was a graduate of the Rocky Grove High School, class of 1937. She had been employed by the Printz Co. in Franklin in their accounting department for 6 years. She was later employed with the Pleasantville School District as a secretary in 1962 and following the merger of the Pleasantville schools with the Titusville School District, she remained as a bookkeeper and secretary until her retirement in 1977.
She was a member of the Pleasantville Presbyterian Church and a member of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees (PASR). She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, RV camping, reading, playing cards, and sipping an occasional Pina Colada.
Betty is survived by three daughters, Mary Fadden and her husband Joseph of Titusville, Charlotte Schaffner and her husband James of Pleasantville, and Cathy Kline and her husband Charles of Titusville; 8 grandchildren, Mary Jo Fadden, Joseph Fadden, Jr. and his wife Melinda, Fulton Schaffner and Pam, Beth Wagner and her husband Rob, Lisa Franklin and her husband Will, Jamie Burns and her husband Mo, Christi Kline-Kradel and her husband David, and Cheri Kline and her husband Nabeel; great grandchildren, Lauren and Lindsay Fadden, James and Nicki English, AJ and Luke Franklin, Maesa Burns, David and Cindy Rodgers, Melissa, Dylan, Jason, and Jenna Hicks, Tiffany and Gabe Runkel, Jenna, Gracie, and Georgia Kradel; great great grandchildren, Diana and Leigh Rodgers. Betty was looking forward to the arrival of her newest great great granddaughter, Adrian English, this March.
Betty is also survived by a sister-in-law, Mrs. Vergil McCauley of Titusville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson-in-law, Eric Zetts; three brothers, Michael Scott, Charles, and John Mihleder; and three sisters, May Shuffstall, Georgia Eagles, and Mildred Mihleder.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and attend the funeral service on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the Pleasantville Presbyterian Church with Pastor Jamie Fowler, officiating.
Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Pleasantville.
The family asks that memorials be made to the Pleasantville Presbyterian Church or to the Pleasantville Volunteer Fire Dept.
