Obituary of Charles Brown
Charles Elmer “Pete” Brown, 73, of 825 E. Main St. Titusville, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 17, 2013 following an extended illness.
Charles was born on March 22, 1939 at Silvercreek, NY, a son of the late William and Hazel Stover Brown. He was married to Beverly Ann Blymiller for 12 years. They later divorced.
Charles was a veteran having served in the US Army. He entered the service on Feb. 26, 1962 and was an M1 rifle marksman. He served for a year and a half at Okinawa during the Vietnam Conflict. He was awarded the Medal of Good Conduct. He was honorably discharged on Jan. 31, 1968.
Charles had been employed for 20 years at the former Dallas Lumber Company. He held various other jobs at local factories. He enjoyed working outside and tinkering with cars. His favorite car was his 1965 Plymouth Barracuda. In his later years, he enjoyed visits from his grandchildren, doing word finds, putting together puzzles, reading scriptures from his Bible, and watching old westerns.
Charles is survived by his companion of 30 years, Louann Brown of Titusville; twin sons, Charles E. Brown, Jr. and companion Cheryl of Titusville and William L. Brown and fiancée Stacey of Nathrop, Colorado; two daughters, Reva Bell Brown of Titusville and Ellie Hayes and fiancée Jerome of Ravena, OH; step-children, Edward Christopher Brown and wife Kim of Corry, Annie Marie Wright and husband Tony of Grand Valley, and William Lewis Brown and wife Jayme of Oil City; 27 grandchildren; three brothers, Claude “Gene” Brown of Titusville, Christopher Brown of Waterford, and Walter Dale Brown of Westfield, NY; two sisters, Alena Woods of Titusville and Judy Houser of Dayton; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Trevor Brown; two brothers, Dickie Brown and Joseph Tyke Brown; and a sister, Elizabeth Sue Soto.
He will be greatly missed by all that survive and warmly welcomed by those who have gone ahead.
No public calling hours will be observed. A private service will be conducted for the immediate family.
Interment will be in Jamison Corners Cemetery.
