Obituary of Ruth A. Brandon
Mrs. Ruth E. Brandon, 80, of 15319 White City Road Pleasantville, died unexpectedly Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at her daughter’s residence in Tyrone.
Ruth was born on Oct. 21, 1932 at Fryburg, a daughter of the late Enos and Elda Motter Beichner. She was married to William Brandon on Oct. 25, 1952. He preceded her in death on Jan. 23, 1976.
Ruth had been employed for over 50 years as a caregiver with Home Health Care. She had also been employed at the former GTE Sylvania in Pleasantville.
She was a member of the Shamburg Christian Church of God, and a member of the Bruce Shorts Post 5958 VFW Ladies Auxillary. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, cleaning her home, cooking and baking.
She is survived by a son, William S. Brandon and his wife Rosemary of Taylorsville, GA; four daughters, Pamela G. Mallon and companion David Grassmyer of Tyrone, Lisa Brandon of Jacksonville, FL, Lynnett Watson and husband Lynn of West Hickory, and Stacy Plemmons and husband Mark of Pleasantville; a daughter-in-law, Maxine Brandon of Pleasantville; 20 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; a brother, Henry Beichner and wife Joan of Fryburg; two sisters, Bernice Wolbert of Syndersburg and Mary McClelland of Oil City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Randy Brandon; four brothers, Albert, Alvin, Floyd, and Walter Beichner; and four sisters, Martha Colhep, Lucy Etzel, Dolores Whitmire, and Ethel Nugent.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville today (Friday) from 7 to 9 PM and attend the funeral service there on Saturday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Shawn Johnson of the Shamburg Christian Church of God, officiating.
Officers and members of the VFW Auxillary will conduct a memorial service this evening at 6:45 PM at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Shaw Farm Cemetery.
