Obituary of Elizabeth L. Palmer

Mrs. Elizabeth L. “Betty” Palmer, 90, died peacefully Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at the Golden LivingCenter in Titusville. She had been a resident there for the past several years. Mrs. Palmer was born on February 20, 1922, in Sugarcreek Boro, to the late Ellsworth and Sarah Russell Graham. She was a graduate of Titusville high school, class of 1940. She then received a certificate in nursing and worked as a nurse’s aide and LPN for several years at the former Sharp’s Convalescent Home in Pleasantville, the Presbyterian Home, and was last employed by the current Golden LivingCenter in Titusville. Mrs. Palmer was a member of the Breedtown Baptist Church and the Cherrytree Volunteer Fire Dept. Auxiliary. She volunteered at the toy shop in Titusville for a number of years and also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and doing needle point. She especially enjoyed being surrounded by her family. Mrs. Palmer is survived by her four children, Janet Hackett of Franklin, Ann Wade and husband Lionel “Jim” of Titusville, Leroy Palmer and wife Jackie of Erie, and Leona Hemmerich and husband Robert of Dinosaur CO.; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son Arthur Palmer who died at birth; three brothers, Oliver Graham, Richard Graham, George Graham; four sisters, Henrietta Schneider, Anna Teed, Genevieve Robishaw, and Ruth Canon. No calling hours will be observed. A memorial service will be conducted at a time to be announced. Memorial contributions may be made to the Breedtown Baptist Church 2037 Cherrytree Rd., Titusville, PA 16354, or to the Cherrytree Volunteer Fire Dept., Titusville, PA 16354.
