Obituary of Mary K. Kunz
Mary K. Kunz, 87, a resident of the Golden Living Center in Tunkhannock, PA, formerly of Titusville, passed away Thursday evening February 7, 2013 at Tunkhannock.
Mary was born on May 14, 1925, the adopted daughter of the late Harold and Ruth Kalmbach Ewing. She grew up in the Toledo, OH area and following her graduation from high school moved to Titusville with her family where she met Harry C. Hunt. They were married on Aug. 24, 1944 and together had four children. Harry preceded her in death on July 13, 1997. Mary later married Robert M. Kunz on Feb. 15, 1975 at Lake Park, FL. He preceded her in death on Dec. 27, 1994.
Mary had been employed at the former GTE Sylvania in Pleasantville.
She was a member of St. Titus Church; a life member of the Cleo J. Ross Post No. 368 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary where she served as council president, unit president, district president, and was department chairperson for education.
Mary enjoyed playing bingo, sewing, doing flower arrangements, and making poppies.
She is survived by her children, Barbara Truax and husband Gene of Tunkhannock, PA, Beverly Copeland and husband Donald of Pleasantville, and Bonnie Troupe and husband Bob of Fairmount City, PA; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Richard Hunt.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Tuesday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at which time the funeral service will be conducted with Fr. Walter Packard of St. Titus Church, officiating.
Officers and members of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary will conduct a memorial service Tuesday at 6:30 PM at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Pleasantville.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Cleo J. Ross Post No. 368 American Legion Scholarship Fund.
