Obituary of Louanne E. Langdon
Mrs. Louanne E. Langdon, 76, of 550 Maxwell Dr. Titusville, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday evening February 10, 2013 at her residence. She was surrounded by her loving family following an almost three year battle with cancer.
Mrs. Langdon was born on March 4, 1936 at Toledo, OH, a daughter of the late Charles and Venita Ruggles Ewing. She was married to Rev. Lyle L. Langdon on April 18, 1987 at the Titusville Wesleyan Methodist Church.
She was a graduate of the Titusville High School and had attended Marion College in Marion, Indiana.
She was first employed at the former Hillcrest Crankshaft and Machine and then for National Forge as a programmer for a number of years. She was last employed at Grand Valley Manufacturing where she designed and programmed the data base for the company. She was retired since 2007.
She was a member of the Titusville Wesleyan Methodist Church where she was a former Sunday school teacher and church treasurer. She was a board member of the Titusville Wesleyan Methodist Acadamy. She composed the church directory and church school yearbooks for several years.
She enjoyed sewing, tatting, quilting, cross stitch, embroidery, playing and teaching the piano and organ, and singing.
She is survived by her husband of Titusville; step-children, Dorothy Mangel of Titusville, Robert Langdon and wife Nancy of Clearwater, FL, Rev. Gordon Langdon and wife Joyce of Elk River, Minnesota, and Gary Langdon and wife Debbie of Sedalia, Missouri; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a great great granddaughter.
She is also survived by numerous cousins including Alice Muir and husband Rev. Troy Muir of Salem, OH, William Joseph Conley, Jr. and wife Sharon of Raleigh, NC, Janice Douglas and husband Chalmers, Marilyn Beers and husband Richard, and Phyllis Beers, all of Titusville, Sue Fuller and husband Donald of Aliquippa, Harold Ewing and wife Nancy of Pleasantville, and Howard Ewing and wife Cordy of Overland Park, KS; and special nephews, David Langdon of Lousiana and Kenneth Langdon of Illinois.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and attend the funeral service on Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Titusville Wesleyan Methodist Church with Rev. Clarence Mayhle, pastor, and Rev. Robert Luther, former pastor, officiating.
Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Pleasantville.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Titusville Wesleyan Methodist Church or to the Titusville Wesleyan Methodist Acadamy.
