Obituary of Bette M. Dittman
Mrs. Bette M. Dittman, 79, of 15187 Kinsack Rd., Centerville died Friday morning, April 12, 2013 at St. Vincent Health Center in Erie.
Mrs. Dittman was born on July 14, 1933 at Titusville to the late Ralph and Anna Courtney Gilson. She married Leonard N. Dittman on July 10, 1954 in Buffalo, NY. Mr. Dittman preceded her in death on July 19, 2011.
She was a graduate of Titusville High School, class of 1951.
Mrs. Dittman was formerly employed as an inspector for GTE Sylvania in Pleasantville for over 25 years and after the closing of the plant went to work for Dick Clickett in Titusville for 11 years.
She attended Hydetown Baptist Church. Bette enjoyed doing puzzles, playing solitaire, taking care of her two cats and traveling. She especially enjoyed being with her family.
Mrs. Dittman is survived by three children, Bobbie Gray and husband Wayne, Robert Dittman and wife Diane all of Titusville, Robin Deeter and husband Bill of Centerville; 8 grandchildren, Jennifer Atha and husband Rich, Brian Gray and wife Alice, Mike Bryan and wife Heather, Shanee Fay and husband Mike, Dawn Blake and husband Jeremy, William “Billy” Deeter and fiancé Amiee, David Deeter and companion Tami Johnson, Jarrod Deeter and wife Stephanie; 16 great grandchildren, Caitlyn and Hannah Atha, Danielle and Cody Bryan, Lacey Elder, Lana Norris, Zach and Paige Blake, Brandon Deeter, Cristy McCann, Austin and Kearra Deeter, Nydia and Devon Deeter, Jessica and Alexis Moniewski; a sister, Mary Kay Smith and husband Ellis of Oil City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Billie Jean Dittman who died in infancy; two brothers, Ralph Gilson, A. Robert Gilson; and a sister, Martha Bridges.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., Titusville on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and attend the funeral service from the funeral home on Monday at 11:00 AM with retired Baptist minister Pastor Gary Kinnear, officiating.
Interment will be in Jerusalem Corners Cemetery.
