Obituary of Guy E. Kellogg
Guy E. Kellogg, 78, of 298 Hamilton Corners Rd. Titusville, died unexpectedly Sunday, April 14, 2013 at his residence.
Guy was born on March 16, 1935 at Cherrytree Twp., PA, a son of the late Andrew and Lucille Graham Kellogg. He was married to Shirley Johnson on February 4, 1956.
Guy had attended the Cherrytree School. He was a veteran having served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He entered the US Army on Sept. 17, 1952 and was honorably discharged on June 16, 1955 with the rank of corporal.
Guy had been employed as a machinist at the former US Steel Oilwell Division in Oil City from where he retired. He had also been employed at Grand Valley Manufacturing, Charter Plastics, Acutus Mold in Oil City, National Forge at Irvine, and Keystone Honing.
Guy enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping, gardening and the outdoors. He also enjoyed going to auctions, working in his garage, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He had cared for the family cemetery for many years.
He is survived by his wife of Titusville; four children, Andrew Kellogg and wife Melissa of Tennessee, James Kellogg and wife Lori of Titusville, Eva Moore and husband Pat of Lexington, KY, and David Kellogg and wife Virginia of Titusville; nine grandchildren; a brother, Ray Kellogg and wife Vada of Stanton, VA; three sisters, Gertrude Jolly of Titusville, Frances Sevier of Ohio, and Marie Bigley and husband Ken of Centerville; a sister-in-law, Kay Kellogg of Nevada; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Merle, Philmore, and Lee Kellogg; and a sister, Dorothy Fleming.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and attend the funeral service there on Thursday at 11:00 AM with Rev. William Hopkins, pastor of the Oil City Church of the Nazarene, officiating.
Interment will be in Kellogg Cemetery in Cherrytree Twp.
