Obituary of Doris J. Proctor

Mrs. Doris J. Proctor, 70, of 9325 Rt. 426 Corry, died at 5:28 PM on Friday, May 10, 2013, at St. Vincent’s Health Center in Erie. Mrs. Proctor was born on May 26, 1942, in Titusville to the late Charles and Florence Carter Reynolds. She was a graduate of Titusville High School, class of 1960. Mrs. Proctor was formerly employed by Welch’s Foods in North East for over 30 years until her retirement in 2006. Doris enjoyed watching NASCAR and was a big fan of Jeff Gordon. She also loved taking care of her dogs, reading and doing puzzles. She is survived by her son, Ricky A. Proctor, Sr of Corry; two grandchildren, Ricky Proctor, Jr. and Christian Proctor both of Muskegon, MI; three great grandchildren, Cloe, Audee, and McKensee Proctor; her former husband, Charles Proctor of Ashville, AL; four sisters, Cora Mae Burrows and husband Kenneth of Titusville, Frances Chavis of Sebring, FL, Beverly Dailey and husband Bill, Bonnie Burrows and husband Gerald both of Oil City; four brothers, Kenneth Reynolds of Titusville, Charles Reynolds, Harold Reynolds and wife Mary both of Meadville, Virgil Reynolds and wife Sue of Knox; six step-children, Rose Fox, Elizabeth Bruhl, Lester Proctor, Debbie Martin, Michael Proctor and Loretta Lawrence. Mrs. Proctor was preceded in death by six sisters, Leona Nichols, Louise Cherico, Janice Proctor, Saundra Tadlock, Carol Deets, and Sherry Pfaus; and two brothers, Glenn Reynolds and a brother who died in infancy. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., Titusville on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and attend the funeral service from the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:00 AM with Rev. William Hopkins, pastor of the Church of the Nazarene in Oil City, officiating. Interment will be in Jamison Corners Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to your local humane society.
