Obituary of Reice Eric Altomare

Reice Eric Altomare, 31, of 333 W. Mt. Vernon St. Titusville, died Sunday afternoon at his residence following a courageous battle with cancer. Reice was born on August 26, 1981 in Titusville, a son of Joseph and Erica Von Scheven Altomare. He was married to Emily Wells on April 26, 2008 at Indiana, PA. Reice was a graduate of Titusville High School, class of 1999. He attended Drexel University in Philadelphia and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science. He was also adjunct instructor of computer science at the University of Pittsburgh at Titusville. He has been employed at the Titusville Area Hospital since 2008 as Director of Information Technology. He had previously been employed as project manager with Salvage Direct. Reice was also the founder of Flidop, a promotional website for local music in Pittsburgh. Reice was the former men’s soccer coach at Titusville High School in 2010. He was a member of the BPO Elks No. 264; a member of the Titusville Rotary Club; and a board member of the Titusville YMCA. His varied interests included music, philosophy, technology, learning, and spending time with friends. Reice is survived by his wife and parents of Titusville; his maternal grandmother, Lorraine Von Scheven of Bradenton, FL; his paternal grandfather, Maurice Altomare of Trenton, NJ; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Randall and Patricia Wells of Marion Center, PA; a sister, Mikal Altomare and partner Rhonda Wetherby and their daughter Avery Reice of Albuquerque, NM; a brother, Damon Altomare and wife Laura and their children, Maggie and Ben Goeller of Santa Fe, NM; a brother-in-law, Nathan Wells and wife Amy and their children Ella and Carson of Marion Center, PA; aunts and uncles which include Lorraine Von Scheven and husband Carl Gustafson of Titusville; and several cousins. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Wednesday from 7 to 9 PM and on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will be conducted on Friday at 1:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church in Titusville with Dr. Barry E. Cressman, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family asks that memorial contributions may be made to any local chapter of the American Cancer Society.
