Obituary of Larry Cleland
Larry Cleland, 35, of 16855 State Highway 8 Centerville, died Thursday, June 27, 2013 at the Trauma and Burn Center at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh from injuries received in a home fire.
Larry was born on August 22, 1977 in Oil City, PA, a son of Albert “Chip” and Audrey Lohr Cleland.
A middle school student at Maplewood, he graduated from Honeoye Falls and Lima High School in New York, class of 1996. As a youth, Larry played Little League baseball at Hydetown.
Larry managed a Monroe Muffler location before opening his own garage, Cleland’s Car Care in Centerville. He enjoyed helping others at his shop and restoring classic cars. He was an avid hunter including small game and archery seasons. Larry also loved fishing with his two children and entertaining them with plenty of fireworks on the 4th of July.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Sheila Diane Cleland. He is survived by his parents of Centerville; his previous wife and two children Dylan and Sheila Cleland of Townville; a brother, Lonnie Cleland and his wife Shannan of Singer Island, FL; a sister, Bonnie Mitcham and her husband David of Tidioute; three nephews, Penn Cleland of Singer Island, FL, David Mitcham, Jr. and his wife Tiffany of Dempseytown, and Nathaniel Mitcham of Tidioute; a niece, Ashley Carter and her husband Stephen of Franklin; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 6, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Troy Center United Methodist Church at which time the funeral service will be conducted with Rev. Ron Hipwell, pastor of the Titusville First United Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Troy Center Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family to aid funeral and medical expenses.
