Obituary of Arlene S. Hall
Mrs. Arlene S. Hall, 96, formerly of Titusville and residing with her daughter in Forestville, NY passed away with her family by her side at 9:34 AM on Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at her daughter’s home.
Mrs. Hall was born on August 28, 1916, in Titusville to the late Ernest and Emma Clark Staub. She married Morris L. Hall on November 22, 1939 at the former St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Titusville. Mr. Hall preceded her in death on March 26, 1996.
She was a graduate of Titusville High School, class of 1934.
Arlene was part owner of the Townhouse Restaurant in Titusville and shortly after went to work for Thompson’s Drug Store as a clerk and cashier. She was employed for 50 years with the store until her retirement at age 85.
Mrs. Hall was a loving mother with a kind heart. She enjoyed traveling, was an excellent cook and baker. When her grandson was returning home from Iraq she took great pleasure going to Ft. Stewart, GA to welcome him home along with all the other soldiers.
Arlene is survived by two children, Karen Taylor and her husband Warren “Skip” of Forestville, NY, Richard Hall and wife Caroline of Sugarland, TX; five grandchildren, Sue Britt, Heather Fort and husband Jamie, Jeff Dunkleman and wife Sam, Shannon Hanley and husband Jason, Sharon Gehbauer and husband Keith; 11 grandchildren, 1 great great-grandchild; and close friends, Sue Fry, Jennifer Fry, and Barbara Schneider.
She was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Ernest, Herbert, Donald and Paul Staub; and a sister, Ruth Staub.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., on Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM and attend the funeral service from the funeral home on Monday at 11:00 AM with retired Baptist minister Pastor Gary Kinnear and Warren “Skip” Taylor her son-in-law, officiating.
Interment will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Centerville.
