Obituary of Frank R. Snyder

Frank Rudolph Snyder, “Hank”, 86 of 14707 Donovan Road, Titusville, passed away peacefully from this world following a brief illness, in the early morning hours of Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at the Caring Place in Franklin, surrounded by his loved ones. Frank was born on July 1, 1927, one of twelve children, to the late Frank and Waive Snyder. Frank was of Christian faith, and attended the Gilson Ridge Church of the Nazarene. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran. On August 22, 1948 he married Loretta Jane Clark, who preceded him in death on May 3, 2002 following 53 years of life, love, and laughter together. Frank worked at Spaulding Fiber in Towanda, NY, and then Trans-Penn in Titusville for many years until his retirement in 1990. Frank loved to hunt, fish, and enjoy the company of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, Frank is preceded in death by five sisters: Shirley, Helen, Josephine, Margaret, and Mary; and three brothers: Merle, Maryott, and Edward. He is survived by three brothers: Jeff, John, and Butch Snyder; by two daughters: Jayne Bernard and husband Ed of Titusville, and Beth Hartel and husband Harold of Newport News, Virginia; and two sons: Frank Michael Snyder and wife Ruth of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, and Jerry Snyder and wife Stacey of Titusville. Frank is also survived by his grandchildren: Tim, Todd, Skip, Brad, Mike, and Maria Snyder, Tom and Chris Hartel, Melanie Keith, Shannon Hornaman, Carrie Smith, Stacey Sutton, Michael Bernard, Jayne Montross, Tonia Nation, and Sara Fonzo; 36 great-grandchildren, and a very large extended family. My father, my teacher, and my strength, in our time of grief, we can smile up to you in heaven, and know that you are at peace. We love you forever. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, 303 N. Washington St. Titusville, on Friday from 7 to 9 PM and on Saturday from 10 to 11 AM with the funeral service to follow. The family asks that in liue of flowers, memorial contributions be made in Frank’s honor to the Gilson Ridge Church of the Nazarene.
