Obituary of John C. Deeter
John C. “Rambo” Deeter, 40, of 35991 Center St., Centerville died Saturday morning August 3, 2013, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
John was born on August 9, 1972 in Meadville a son of Frances Thomas Deeter Whitehill and the late George Deeter.
He was a graduate of Maplewood High School, class of 1990.
John was currently employed as a salesman for Weber-Harris Automotive in Meadville for the past 6 years and previously with Crotty Chevrolet in Union City and Gary Miller in Erie.
He was a life member of the Bloomfield Volunteer Fire Department, a former Chief, as well as, a current EMT. He was a member of the Union City Moose #83.
Growing up John was active in the Boy Scout program from 15 until the time of high school graduation. He helped coach Little League Baseball for 6 years and was also a dj and went by the name of DJ Uno.
He also enjoyed watching and going to NASCAR races and hunting, but John especially loved being around his young nieces and nephews having fun playing or taking them on trips.
John will be missed by his mother and step-father, Frances Whitehill and husband Duane of Titusville; a sister, Kristi Henderson and husband Rick of Cranberry Twp.; maternal grandparents, Robert and Ruth Thomas of Lincolnville; step-brothers, Daniel Whitehill and wife Lisa of Clinton, OH, Dale Whitehill and wife Martha of Raynham, MA; step-sisters, Diane Snyder and husband Tim of Titusville, Dawnette Whitehill of Ellicott City, MD; Uncles, Dick Deeter and wife Shirley of Titusville, David Deeter of Cheboygan, MI, Norman Thomas and wife Gina of Centerville, Robbie Thomas and wife Shelly of Union City; Aunts, Zelma McMahon and husband Jack of Titusville, Rita Bennett and husband Jeff of Union City; brother-in-law, John Tartara of Titusville; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Damaris Tartara.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., Titusville on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Funeral services will be conducted from the First United Methodist Church in Titusville on Wednesday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Lee Baker, assistant pastor, officiating.
Interment will be in Tryonville Cemetery.
