Obituary of George W. Mosher
Mr. George W. Mosher, Jr. 74, of 8147 Tidioute Enterprise Rd. Titusville, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family, on Friday October 18 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Erie.
George was born on January 18, 1939 in Otto, NY, to the late George and Ethel Sphon Mosher, Sr. He married Shirley Ann McElhaney on December 21, 1957 in Titusville.
Mr. Mosher was a graduate of Union City High School class of 1956. George entered the US Navy and served in the Cuban Crisis and Vietnam Conflict. He was honorably discharged after 24 years of service on July 31, 1980 in Bethesda, MD, with the rank of HM1.
George was employed as an X-ray technician for several years at the Meadville Medical Center. He was a member of the American Legion Post 237 in Union City and a member of the Titusville VFW Bruce Shorts Post 5958. George enjoyed camping, fishing, and boating as well as spending time with his grandchildren. He was also a drug and alcohol counselor in the Titusville area for many years and helped many people throughout his life.
Mr. Mosher is survived by his loving wife Shirley of Titusville, five children, Diana Blanchard and husband Bruce of Brookville, Deborah Upton and companion Larry Harroun of Grand Valley, and Dawn Llamelo and husband John of Guam, Danny Mosher and wife Sophia of Union City, and David Mosher of Titusville; thirteen grandchildren, Jillian Kinnear and husband Jason, Emberly Mietus, Brandon & Bryan Blanchard, Jonathan Llamelo and wife Bernice, Jason Llamelo, Justin Llamelo, John Llamelo, Desiree Harrison and husband David, Aisha Mosher, Jared Mosher, Carrie Zojonc, Justin Mosher and Dylan Mosher; Eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Donald Mosher and wife Sue of Florida, Bill Mosher and wife Teresa of Texas; one sister Katherine Merritt and husband Larry of Elgin, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents George was preceded in death by a brother Herb Mosher.
No public calling hours will be observed and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
