Obituary of Mabel Roberts
Mabel Roberts, 83, of 12406 Church Run Rd. Titusville, died Wednesday evening October 30, 2013 at St. Vincent Health Center in Erie.
Mabel was born on April 20, 1930 in Titusville, a daughter of the late Harvey and Elizabeth Piatt Angell. She was married to Samuel E. Roberts, Sr. on March 5, 1949 in Centerville. He preceded her in death on April 18, 2012.
Mabel was a graduate of Colestock High School, class of 1948.
She was a dedicated and faithful church attender at the Titusville Free Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and close friends; buying and displaying antiques; attending yard sales; and watching the wildlife from her home. She always possessed a great sense of humor.
Mabel is survived by the following children; Jim Roberts and wife Mary of Titusville, Dar Howard and husband Denny of Pleasantville, Marsha L’Huillier and husband Ken, Samuel Roberts, Jr. and wife Carol, Norm Roberts and wife Bobbie Jo, Tim Roberts, Ross Roberts and wife Stephanie, all of Titusville, and K.J. Roberts and wife Tina of Waterford; grandchildren, Wendy Wescoat and husband Tim, Curtis Roberts and wife Alyssa, Brad Howard and wife Rhonda, Mark Howard, Rebecca Smith, Pam Johnson and husband Steven, Marshall Metzgar, Chad Zuendel and wife Sadie, Samuel Roberts III, Shaun Roberts and wife Missy, Jessie Oakes and husband Jason, Danny Roberts and wife Amy, Jarrod Roberts, Jade Roberts, Matt Burrows, and Chad Burrows; numerous great grandchildren; two sisters, Clara Madden of Jamestown, NY and Frances Vroman and husband George of Erie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jody Roberts and a great granddaughter, Gracie Caroline Howard.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville today (Friday) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and attend the funeral service there on Saturday at 2:00 PM with Rev. Timothy Maybray, pastor of the Titusville Free Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Union Cemetery.
The family asks that memorials be made to the Free Methodist Church 42490 State Hwy 27 Titusville, PA 16354 or to the Titusville Area Alumni Association 302 E. Walnut St. Titusville, PA 16354.
