Obituary of Scott W. Linnon

Mr. Scott W. Linnon, 57, of State Route 417, Oakland Twp., died on Friday, November 1 at the Titusville Area Hospital. He was surrounded by people who loved him. Scott was born on August 24, 1956, to the late James M. and Sandra M. Linnon. He married Cynthia I. Stevenson on October 10, 1998. She preceded him in death on May 29, 2011. He was a graduate of Titusville High School, class of 1974 and Penn State University, class of 1978. Scott has been involved in running the family business for 30 years and expanded it to include a successful Internet business that helps to clothe big and tall people across the world. He was a member of the Titusville Rotary, B.P.O. Elks 264 and the Titusville Blue Lodge F&AM. Scott had a wonderful love of life and an infectious laugh that made people feel good when they were around him. He loved sports: diving on the swim teams for both Titusville and Penn State, playing basketball in pick-up games at Titusville and Franklin YMCAs, and especially golf. Many friends and wagers were won by Scotty on the golf courses at Titusville Country Club, Wanango Country Club and Meadville Country Club. It will be a tough spot to fill on that Wednesday foursome. He is survived by four sisters, Pamela Frank of Westfield, NY; Diane Popieski and husband Tom of Umatilla, FL; Kathryn Linnon of Canadohta Lake; Nancy Linnon and husband Jesse Vladimirov of Portland, OR; a stepson, Devin J. Litwiler and wife Teja of Pittsburgh; a step-granddaughter; seven nieces and nephews; and three great-nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted for family and friends on Tuesday, November 5 at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ronald Hipwell officiating. Interment will be in Dempseytown Lutheran Cemetery with the immediate family. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Crawford Co., 310 N. Monroe St., Titusville, PA 16354 or to the charity of one’s choice.
