Obituary of Richard E. Proctor

Mr. Richard “Butch” Elmer Proctor, Jr., 58, of Walnut Street, Hydetown, died at 11:20 PM Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Saint Vincent Health Center in Erie. Mr. Proctor was born on March 16, 1955 in Louisville, Kentucky to Leona Firster Proctor and the late Richard E. Proctor, Sr. He married Diane Richardson on July 20, 2002 in Titusville. He retired from the Taylor Ramsey lumber company and enjoyed playing horseshoes, fishing, hunting, working on demo cars, playing poker, and gardening his tomato plants. Mr. Proctor is survived by his mother, Leona Proctor of Titusville; his wife, Diane; a son, Richard E. Proctor, III of Mooresville, SC; three daughters, Missy Proctor of Hays, KS, Deana Acheson and husband Aaron of Russell, KS, and Shannon Proctor of Hays, KS; two stepsons, Eugene Sherman and wife Missy of Hubbard, OH, and Clarence Sherman of Centerville; two stepdaughters, Michelle Snyder and husband Tim of Centerville and Deanna Richardson of Titusville; two sisters, Gloria Manross of Hydetown, and Missy Drake and husband Dale of Titusville; eleven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; eleven step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, including Shasta Manross and husband Brian Gisewhite of Centerville, Shelby Manross and companion Joe Cancilla of Titusville, Trisha Drake and Olyvia Drake of Titusville ; and a special friend, Nicholas Kinney. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard E. Proctor, Sr., and two brothers, William Proctor and Walter Proctor. Friends and family may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, 303 N. Washington St. Titusville, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM and attend the funeral service on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home with Mr. Gordon Turk officiating. Interment will be Jerusalem Corners Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
