Obituary of Eric W. Erickson

Mr. Eric W. Erickson, 94, formerly of 505 Abbott St., Titusville, and Fulda, MN died at 10:35 PM on Wednesday, December 25, 2013, at the Golden LivingCenter in Oil City. Mr. Erickson was born on November 17, 1919 in Oil City to the late Eric M. and Lottie French Erickson. He attended schools in Endeavor and served in the US Army. He entered the service on January 26, 1940, and was honorably discharged on June 13, 1971. During his 31 years of service he was a combat medic in World War II, the Korean War and 2 tours of duty in Vietnam. Mr. Erickson was of the Catholic faith. He was a member of the Fulda, Minnesota VFW Post #9017, Fulda American Legion Post #0318, and a former member of the Fulda Lions Club. Mr. Erickson is survived by his second wife, Irene Fiedler Erickson of Fulda, MN whom he married on July 13, 1986; six children, Eric Erickson, Jr and wife Rita of Erie, Sheila Ritchie and husband Bruce of Titusville, John Erickson and wife Jeannette of NC, Theresa Price and husband Bob of Hydetown, Paul Erickson of West Hickory, and Tom Erickson of Titusville; four step-children, Mary Balfanz and husband Larry, Rita Mills and husband Brad, Mark Leopold, Mike Leopold and companion Diane Hortop; 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bettye Barger Erickson. A private service will be conducted for family members this spring in the East Hickory Cemetery with full military rites observed.
