Obituary of Frances A. Eggleston Thompson

Frances A. “Fran” Eggleston Thompson, 66, of Titusville passed away at home on December 25, 2013. Fran was born in Titusville on January 11, 1947 to the late Stanley and Evelyn Markley Eggleston. She resided in Pleasantville for many years, and attended Pleasantville School. She graduated from Titusville High School in 1964. She married William P. Thompson on July 25, 1991. Fran was previously employed by Masonite, Western-Southern Life Insurance, PNA Club, and the R-Bar. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Fran is survived by her husband; two brothers, Stanley Eggleston and companion Rosalyn Casella of Taos, NM and David Eggleston of Erie; five children, Frances A (Newton) Dougherty and husband Jeffrey of Titusville, Pamela M (Newton) Haux of Hydetown, Keith W Newton III and wife Sandra of Ludlow, Linda C (Newton) Detsch and husband Allen of Kane, and Karen L (Newton) Brumbaugh and husband Ronald of Venango; twelve grandchildren, Brian Snyder and wife Meagan of Monroeville, Eric Snyder of Marina, CA, Ian Haux of Titusville, Sean Haux of Lakewood, CO, Katie Haux of Titusville, Angela, Maria, and Joseph Newton of Ludlow, Jacqueline Detsch of Pittsburgh, Michael Detsch of Kane, Nicholas Brumbaugh of Meadville, and Lawrence Brumbaugh of Venango; three great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, infant Kenneth Eggleston and Brian Eggleston; and two sisters, Andrea Eggleston and Charlotte (Eggleston) Gratkowski. No public calling hours will be observed. At her request, a private family memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Crawford County Hospice 310 N. Monore Street Titusville, PA 16354.
